Labor Support

With me as your doula, you have someone in the room who is unquestionably in your corner. I’m not there to support a provider, birth location, birth plan, or even ideals around what birth “should” look like. I’m there to support you.

Pregnancy

I become your doula the minute you hire me, meaning my support extends well beyond birth. If you need resources, referrals, or someone to vent to, I’m there for you. We will have one to two prenatal visits during the third trimester so that we can really explore your birth preferences and use them to build your birth plan.

Labor

In labor, I’m there guiding you into positions and providing comfort measures, but one of my most important roles is holding space. I slow down the room so that you can ask questions, process information, and make the best decision for your family. If you have a partner, I empower them to be the support both of you need them to be.

Postpartum

After your baby is born, I stick around for roughly an hour to make sure that everything and everyone is okay. After that, I leave you to rest and bond. Within a week of the birth or you getting home from the hospital, I do a postpartum visit so that I can see how things are going, assist with any feeding issues, and offer any additional resources and support.

“On the evening after our daughter was born, my husband and I looked at each other and agreed that Kellie was absolutely ESSENTIAL to our birth experience. Having her in our delivery space was a calming presence and gave us confidence that we had a dedicated professional by our side every step of the way. She asked important questions and listened to all of our wishes for birth earnestly and honored each of them. I cannot even imagine our daughter’s birth without Kellie’s help, guidance, and hugs.

Kellie was so much more than a doula. She was my biggest supporter before, during, and after delivery, always checking in when we needed her, she was a fantastic resource for all of our baby-related questions postpartum, and now we feel like she’s a true friend to our family.”
